Idaho Governor, Butch Otter has proclaimed observance of National Playground Safety Week, April 25th– 30thas a time to focus on children's outdoor play environments; a time to pledge to use good judgment when playing; a time for gratitude for all the adults who work tirelessly on maintaining our children’s playgrounds.

In celebration of National Playground Safety Week, SLYDE the Playground Hound encourages children of all ages to PLAY SMART, PLAY SAFE™. To join the fun and learn what you can do to play safely, come meet SLYDE live during this Saturday’s GET OUTSIDE WITH SLYDE™ event.

BRINGTHE WHOLE FAMILY: The entire day is sure to have lots of outdoor activity for families with children of all ages and levels of ability. Dress for any kind of weather; this event is outdoors.

SLYDE the Playground Hound was created by Curtis Stoddard of Ashton Idaho, in an effort to prevent mishaps and playground related deaths. According to Stoddard, SLYDE is patterned after Smokey Bear who teaches elementary children, “Only you can prevent wildfires”. SLYDE teaches children how to “Play safe, play smart.”
